class- Journal / Composition Book Covers
Its always more fun to journal or take notes in a pretty covered composition book. Here is a fun and easy way to create a one-of-a-kind Composition book cover, using fat quarters, interfacing or leftover batting. You’ll also learn to insert a “pocket” to hold your favorite pen and add a permanent book mark. After learning this technique, you may even come up with a way to use your leftover quilt squares and scraps fabric, and design your own covers!
Supply List:
Sewing Machine in good working order, owner’s manual, electric cords and feet.
Rulers
Rotary Cutter
Thread
Sewing Tool Box – supplies for sewing, quilting
½ yd each, of two coordinating fabrics (front, flaps and inside lining)
½ yd interfacing for stabilizing the fabric (if you’d like a “padded” looking book cover, bring a 12” by 17” piece of batting)
14 inch piece of ribbon for book marker
