Come join Cathy to make the medium, large or extra large size tote with the optional zipper opening. Make your own custom tote using your favorite fabrics and colors. 1. We will be making the medium, large or extra large tote for class. 2. Choose a handle length — short for hand-carrying or long for carrying over the shoulder. 3. Decide whether you want the security of an easy zipper closure or an open top. The optional zipper is easy to install and opens to fall flat against the bag giving full access to the interior space. Each tote has two outer slip pockets for quick access to cell phone, keys, and more. To be done before class: Have your pieces cut out and quilted. Supplies needed: pattern thread zipper foot Sewing tools ruler marking pencil clips Pattern not included in class and is available for purchase in the store or on Calicostation.com.

Sit and sew held in our classroom with no educator. It is an open forum to sew. Bring your machine come with your friends and meet new ones. Finish old projects or start new ones. We are all here to help each other.

Its always more fun to journal or take notes in a pretty covered composition book. Here is a fun and easy way to create a one-of-a-kind Composition book cover, using fat quarters, interfacing or leftover batting. You’ll also learn to insert a “pocket” to hold your favorite pen and add a permanent book mark. After learning this technique, you may even come up with a way to use your leftover quilt squares and scraps fabric, and design your own covers!
