CALICO STATION UNIVERSITY Embroidery ER is back! "UNDER CONSTRUCTION"
We hosted this program, along with OESD educators, last summer
and they’re returning to teach us more. This program will be entirely
different from last year’s version, so you’ll want to come even if you
attended last year’s program.
If you have any interest in machine embroidery, this event is a
must for you. You don’t have to sew on a Bernina to enjoy it and
be welcome. We’ll see great embroidery projects, get hints and
tips to make our work more successful and generally have a great
time.
The cost of the event is $10, but you’ll receive a $10 coupon the
day of the class, so it’s FREE to you. There will be discounts on
everything they show us and storewide, as well, for attendees.
Sign up now for either time slot.

Clubs
Thimbleberries Club
Monday 9:30 - Saturday 10:00
April 7th ~~ April 5th
May 5th ~~ May 3rd
June 2nd ~~ June 7th
This is by far the longest-running club at Calico Station. It’s based around our love for Thimbleberries fabrics and patterns, but really runs way deeper than that. We share show and tell. We share stories and fun. We even eat together fairly regularly. All in all, we have a great time.
We’ll be working on the project called Lakeside this year—beautiful blues and reds with just a touch of a nautical theme. You don’t have to commit to any projects, but you will probably want to! Come to the meeting in January and find out what all the buzz is about. We promise you’ll be welcomed into this warm and fun crowd.
Tech Tip: It’s a new year and time for new beginnings. Let’s make 2008 your year to be organized so you have lots of time to sew. TECH TALK
Keeping your machine covered when not in use is an easy way to keep the dust bunnies out. A cute dish towel, a cover you’ve sewn, or even a piece of fabric from your stash all work great.
Vow to regularly clean and oil your machine.
Change the needle frequently – not just when it breaks!
Quick Tip 200, 730, 640 users: if your machine won’t run but gives no error messages, check to make sure the cutter/scissor button isn’t stuck. If the machine registers the button making contact with the board, it will not let the machine run.
